I have always believed that leadership is about people.

 

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of leading teams in healthcare and human services, and the lesson that has stayed with me most is that people do their best work when they know they are valued, supported, and trusted.

 

That belief has shaped the leader I am today. My leadership style is supportive, compassionate, and grounded in integrity. I lead with my heart, but I also believe in accountability, clear expectations, and doing what is right—even when it isn't easy. I try to lead the way I would want to be led: with respect, honesty, encouragement, and genuine care for the people around me. I believe leadership isn't about having all the answers. It is about listening, being present, recognizing the strengths in others, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable bringing their ideas, concerns, and talents to the table. I make it a priority to know the people I work with, understand what motivates them, and help them recognize their own potential. Some of the greatest successes in my career have come from building strong, committed teams. I have seen what happens when people trust their leadership and, more importantly, trust one another. They become more confident, more engaged, and more willing to take ownership. Together, they accomplish things that would never be possible individually.

 

After more than 20 years in healthcare leadership, I am proud of the organizations and programs I have helped lead, but I am even more proud of the people I have had the opportunity to mentor, encourage, and grow along the way. For me, success is not simply measured by numbers, growth, or operational results. Success is building a team that believes in what they do, believes in each other, and knows that their work matters. I lead with heart. I lead with integrity. And I believe that when you genuinely invest in people, they will invest in the organization, the mission, and the people they serve.
